CDIC grant to support the defence capabilities at Castech

Castech is an honoured recipient of a nearly $250,000 grant to facilitate the improvement of foundry capabilities critical to the supply of castings to the Defence sector.

The Morrison Government announced $12.4 million through the ‘Sovereign Industrial Capability Priority Grants’, awarded to small businesses contributing to the record build-up of Australia’s Defence industry.

“This grant will certainly solidify Castech as a quality supplier of castings for Defence,” Managing Director Phil Stoddart said.

“Not only will it improve our capabilities to service the Defence industry, but we will also see greater efficiency at all levels of production.”

Just a few of the upgrades to result from the grant include greater power supply with  an upgraded transformer, new cyber security and computer systems, as well as the purchase of a new aluminium resistance furnace.

Castech is now positioned to better service the industry through greater casting quality and efficiency and look forward to new defence projects to come.
